"I'm getting ready to do something that's making me really nervous," Strahan revealed during Tuesday's Live! With Kelly and Michael. "I'm about to do something that started as a joke here on the show ... [Channing Tatum] wrote me in to the next Magic Mike XXL movie."
Magic Mike XXL picks up three years after Mike (Tatum) quit stripping with the remaining Kings of Tampa ready to follow suit. But before they all throw out their thongs, they want to do one last performance in Myrtle Beach. Mike and his friends will road trip together to their final show, with stops in Jacksonville and Savannah along the way.
Strahan will seemingly play one of the strippers Mike encounters on the journey. "The wardrobe guy called me the other day. And after the conversation, I said, 'Why did he even bother to call me to talk about wardrobe? 'Cause apparently there ain't nothing to be worn!'" Strahan said.
The NFL Hall of Famer joins fellow Magic Mike newbies Elizabeth Banks, Donald Glover, Jada Pinkett Smith and Andie MacDowell. Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez and Gabriel Iglesias will also reprise their roles. Unfortunately, Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey will not be returning.
Magic Mike XXL hits theaters July 1, 2015.
