Gilmore Girls fans can sleep easy tonight: Melissa McCarthy will appear in the Netflix revival.

TVLine was first to report the news that after months of Stars Hollow fans' wishing, wondering and waiting, McCarthy will reprise her role as Sookie in Netflix's Gilmore Girls reboot. McCarthy then officially confirmed her return on Thursday's Ellen. McCarthy is expected to shoot her scenes in the coming days, although her appearance may be little more than a cameo, owing to her busy schedule. Still, she told Ellen she's thrilled to take part in an episode that airs Friday.

New Gilmore Girls will reveal the final four words.

"They're making four new movies of the Gilmore Girls which is a show which was near and dear to my heart for four years and we could not get those schedules to work," McCarthy said. "And there was a whole thing. And then I was gonna be out of the country and blah, blah, blah. And literally about an hour and half ago we figured out that I'm gonna go back and do it and I am so excited. And they are gonna be amazing."

McCarthy's news is the latest in a steady stream of exciting Gilmore Girls updates, after previous announcements confirmed the return of Hep Alien's band members and the addition of Mae Whitman.
