Nobody who watched the 2010 Golden Globes can forget host Ricky Gervais' cringe-worthy jab at Mel Gibson, who at the time was feeling the sting from unsavory press following a DUI arrest and leaked, profanity-laced voicemails.
"I like a drink as much as the next man," Gervais said as he introduced him, "unless the next man in Mel Gibson." Gibson took it in stride, pretending to slur his words, but it was an outrageous moment to be sure.
Now Gibson may have a chance to clap back: The actor-director will present at this year's ceremony, which Gervais is hosting, the Golden Globes announced on Twitter Monday. Given how hard the ceremony is pushing Gervais' unpredictable "what will he say?" shtick, could we see a Round 2?
The Golden Globes airs live Sunday at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on NBC.
