Appearing on CBS This Morning Friday, Bialik said she returned to work shortly after the accident in order to figure out how her mangled hand would be worked into the show.

"I wanted to give our writers the opportunity to see, like, is this going to work?" she said. "Can we hide it? Can we work around it? Is it something we need to write in? ... We've been able to hide it."

How is The Big Bang Theory's Mayim Bialik after car accident?

Bialik also countered reports that she had lost a finger in the accident, which happened when another driver made an illegal turn in front of her. "It doesn't look so great, it doesn't feel so great," she admitted. "But all my fingers are there. They all work."

And it's not just in her professional life that Bialik has returned to normal activities. "I trimmed my boys' nails successfully using only my left hand," Bialik tweeted on Aug. 20. Feeling like a capable mom again after my accident: priceless."

The Big Bang Theory premieres Thursday, Sept. 27 at 8/7c.
