The Big Bang Theory star will host TV Land's redo of the classic prank show, the network announced Thursday. Bialik will co-host the series alongside Peter Funt, executive producer and son of original Candid Camera host Allen Funt. The newest version of the series will debut August 11.
"I am very excited to be working with TV Land, Electus, and the legendary Peter Funt on the newest incarnation of the original feel good reality show, Candid Camera," Bialik said in a statemtnt. "Since I was a child, I have found it impossible to not smile when I hear, 'Smile! You're on Candid Camera!' and I am honored and tickled pink to get to be a part of this amazing franchise."
Candid Camera started as a radio show in 1947 before moving to television via ABC in 1948 as a hidden-camera show. It would later move to NBC and CBS, bouncing from network to network and back again. Its most recent revival aired on Pax from 2001 to 2004.
BIalik, who has been nominated for three Emmys as Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler on The Big Bang Theory, got her big break as the title character in NBC's Blossom.
