Mayans M.C. Roars to Life This September

Mayans M.C., FX's long-awaited Sons of Anarchy spin-off, finally has a premiere date. The saga continues starting Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 10/9c.

The spin-off will take place after the events of the original show and focus on a different outlaw motorcycle gang that will be familiar to fans of Sons of Anarchy. The series follows Ezekiel "EZ" Reyes (JD Pardo) as he gets out of prison and falls in with the Mayans M.C. as he plots revenge against the people who destroyed his family's shot at the American Dream. Edward James Olmos, Sarah Bolger and Danny Pino also star. The rest of the cast is made up of people with "more jail time than screentime," according to co-creator Kurt Sutter. So they're working to make sure it's authentic.

As for what Sons of Anarchy characters besides Mayans Oakland chapter leader Marcus Alvarez (Emilio Rivera), show up, you'll have to tune in this fall.
