BBC America announced Thursday that Matt LeBlanc, Friendsand Episodes star and noted "petrolhead," will be joining the upcoming Top Gear return. The once and forever Joey Tribbiani will co-host the car show with Chris Evans (not Captain America, a different Chris Evans).

LeBlanc is the first non-British host in the long-running BBC show's history. He is no stranger to the Top Gear universe, though, as he's currently hosting the spin-off Top Gear: The Races on BBC America. He also holds the record for fastest celebrity lap on the Top Gear track.

"As a car nut and a massive fan of Top Gear, I'm honored and excited to be a part of this iconic show's new chapter. What a thrill!" LeBlanc said in a statement.

Additional Top Gear cast members will be announced at a later date.

LeBlanc is joining a somewhat rebooted new season of Top Gear. He and Evans are taking over for longtime hosts Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond, who left the show last year under controversial circumstances. They are developing a new series for Amazon Prime.
