Olsen Twins Cite Full House as Beginning of Fashion Careers
The Olsen twins cite Full House as the beginning of their fashion careers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are only 27, but they've been preparing to become fashion icons their whole lives. The twins told Net-a-Porter's The Edit that their role as Michelle Tanner, which they started at only 9 months old, inspired their lifelong love of fashion. "[On Full House] we'd be in six-hour fittings three times a week, because we had to wear 12 different outfits," Ashley said.

Michelle Tanner's signature style was put together mainly from adult pieces, such as Chanel and Marc Jacobs, which were tailored to fit the pint-sized stars. "We were designing clothes for ourselves as we were so petite," Mary-Kate added. "So I think that is when we became obsessed with fit, and now the obsession has become a profession."
The twins have now co-founded multiple fashion brands, such as The Row, Elizabeth and James, Olsenboye and StyleMint. Last year, they were even honored with the 2012 Womenswear Designers of the Year award for The Row, a luxury line of basics.
