Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. : Let's Do the Time Warp Again!

The team finally found a way back to the past

Ever since Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.catapulted us into a bleak, post-apocalyptic future, we've been wondering how exactly Coulson (Clark Gregg) and the team are going to get themselves out of this pickle and back to the present. Now, they may have finally found a way.

Saving the human race from their Kree overlords of the future is all well and good, but the ideal situation here would definitely be to stop the Earth from breaking apart in the first place, right? That's seemed impossible so far, since the team doesn't have a DeLorean parked in the backyard, and the monolith that got them there in the first place is nowhere to be found.

Thanks to the human resistance on the surface though, May (Ming-Na Wen) was able to find a single piece of the monolith and deliver it to Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge). Conveniently enough, FitzSimmons had just found the bare bones of a machine built to take them back in time -- which they apparently designed and constructed themselves in the past? Ugh, these timelines are so confusing.

Just as May was losing her faith in her abilities to help the team, she found out she was the only person capable of figuring out how to get everyone home.

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD: Will FitzSimmons Ever Get Married?

This episode brought with it a series of flashbacks to the years right after the world broke apart, where May, Fitz, Simmons, and Yo-Yo were surviving on the Zephyr and then in the Lighthouse. It sounds like these versions of themselves existed after they'd traveled to and back from the future. Which... honestly just makes it like 10 times harder to put all these events in their proper order.

It turns out May helped raise the Seer, Robin (Lexi Kolker), after her mother died and instructed the little girl to tell her how to get back to the past in the distant future, when Robin would be an old woman. With her dying breath, she revealed to May the secret of returning to the past and saving the world.

We just have to wait around until May to tell us what the heck she whispered.

That's not the only puzzle piece missing in this mystery though. Daisy (Chloe Bennet) may be awesome, but she's simply not powerful enough to quake the Earth apart. Not even on her best day! Even she thinks the story sounds a little off, so is there something that could amplify Daisy's powers enough to cause that kind of devastation? Or is she just the fall guy for something even worse?
