Marvel and Netflix's Defenders Adds Two More Fan Favorites

They'll come as they are

When Marvel and Netflix bring together their superhero shows for an Avengers style mash-up called The Defenders, they won't be alone. Yes, Sigourney Weaver is playing their (still mysterious) antagonist. But Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) will have some decidedly more human company.

As just confirmed over at the official Defenders Twitter account, Deborah Ann Woll and Simone Missick will be metaphorically suiting up to join the Netflix heroes.

Woll first appeared as Karen Page on Daredevil, helping Matt Murdock (Cox) and Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) as an office assistant, before graduating at the end of Season 2 into becoming a reporter. (It's complicated.) But Page will be showing up again when Marvel/Netflix's Daredevil spin-off Punisher hits screens, so only makes sense that she'll be in the Defenders mini-series as well.

Missick, meanwhile, is a relative newcomer. She popped up as detective Misty Knight in Luke Cage, and will also appear on Iron Fist. In the comics, Knight gains some superpowers of her own, courtesy of a bionic arm; given she ended Luke Cage's freshman season looking close to her vigilante identity, it's unclear as of yet whether she'll be bringing the pain to Weaver along with the rest of the team, or will be sticking to the sidelines.

Expect literally every other actor ever associated with Marvel and Netflix's shows to be confirmed for the cast in the upcoming weeks and months.

The Defenders debuts on Netflix in 2017.
