Polar opposites are the key to saving New Orleans in a new trailer for Marvel's latest superhero series, Cloak & Dagger.
In the first preview of the Freeform drama, Tyrone, aka Cloak (Aubrey Joseph), is an overachiever with the ability to engulf individuals in darkness. Meanwhile, Tandy, aka Dagger (Olivia Holt), is a rough-around-the-edges rebel who can emit light daggers. Their complimentary powers make them a divine pairing despite their very different backgrounds.
As they discover their newly-acquired abilities, their romantic feelings for one another will further complicate an already complex situation. According to the mysterious voice in the teaser, their hometown is a "rollercoaster of destruction and rebirth" and if the enamored teens intend to save their city, they're going to need their heads fully in the game.
Based on the Marvel Comics of the same name, the series was created by Underground's Joe Pokaski, who will also serve as the showrunner. Love & Basketball and Beyond the Lights director Gina Prince-Bythewood wrote the pilot in addition to helming the anticipated episode.
Marvel's Cloak & Dagger premieres Thursday, June 7 at 8/7c on Freeform.
