Variety reports Mario Lopez is being added to the cast of Fox's Grease: Live. He'll play Vince Fontaine, the TV host who emcees the big dance contest at the high school. The role was originally portrayed by Edd Byrnes.
Fox is following in the footsteps of NBC and reviving a beloved movie musical as a live-action television event. Julianne Hough and Aaron Tveit will star as Sandy Olsson and Danny Zuko.
Fox announces live Grease event
Rounding out the Pink Ladies will be Vanessa Hudgens as Rizzo, Keke Palmer as Marty, Kether Donohue as Jan, and Carly Rae Jepsen as Frenchie. Tveit will be joined in a rendition of "Greased Lightning" by Carlos PenaVega as Kenickie and David Del Rio as Putzie.
Grease: Live will air on Sunday, Jan. 31 on Fox.
