"Yes, we are pregnant. This is true," the 41-year-old singer-actress said during an Access Hollywood interview with Billy Bush. A preview of the interview aired on Wednesday's Today.
"It's still early; I'm expecting in the spring, I'll say that. I don't want to give too much of like, specific outlines," Carey said."It's been a long journey, but it's been tough because I've been trying to ... hold onto a shred of privacy. And that was not easy."

Thandie Newton, who took over Carey's role in Tyler Perry's new film, For Colored Girls, on short notice, may have played a role in the timing of the announcement, considering she spilled the beans on The ViewTuesday.
Carey also revealed that shortly after her 2008 wedding to the Cannon, 30, she became pregnant but suffered a miscarriage.
"It was really sad so we had to just, we had really to absorb this and take it in," Carey said.
The couple, who conceived naturally, will not learn the baby's gender prior to the birth, Bush added.
We may not know the baby's gender yet, but let's suggest some baby names to the happy couple below. (Our ideas: Glitter if it's a girl and Talent if it's a boy.)
