Manti Te'o admits to "tailoring" stories, denies being in on hoax
Manti Te'o, the Notre Dame football star who claims he was the victim of an elaborate hoax involving Lennay Kekua, a girlfriend that never existed, will sit down with Katie Couric for her daytime talk show, Katie. His parents, Brian and Ottilia Te'o, will also be interviewed for the episode, which is scheduled to air Thursday, Jan. 24. (Check your local listings for times.)
This will be the Heisman runner-up's first on-camera interview since it was revealed on Wednesday that his girlfriend wasn't real and did not die from cancer. In a recent interview with ESPN, he admitted to "tailoring" stories about Kekua, whom he'd met online, to imply that he met her before she passed away.
