Man Arrested and Charged with Threatening President Obama in Ricin Case
A man suspected of sending letters that contained ricin poison to President Barack Obama has been arrested, NBC News reports. The man, who also sent a poisoned letter to Republican Mississippi Senator Roger Wicker, was identified as Mississippi entertainer Paul Kevin Curtis, 45, the Justice Department announced on Thursday. He was arrested Wednesday at his home in Corinth, Miss., and faces up to 15 years in prison and a $500,000 fine, the Justice Department says.

The ricin letters, which were postmarked on April 8 and sent from Memphis, Tenn., both concluded with the phrase, "to see a wrong and not expose it, is to become a silent partner to its continuance.," according to the report.
In a bizarre twist, Sen. Wicker had previously hired Curtis as an Elvis impersonator for a party he had hosted. "He was more entertaining then,” Wicker told NBC News.
After the arrest, Curtis' family said he suffered from mental illness, including bipolar disorder, and had not taken his medication in years.
