A Palestinian shopkeeper portrayed as a terrorist in this summer's Bruno is suing Sacha Baron Cohen for libel in a $110 million lawsuit, the Associated Press reports.
In the film, Ayman Abu Aita, who filed the suit last week in District of Columbia federal court, was identified as a member of the militant group Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade, which is "utterly false and untrue," his lawyers wrote in the suit. They also claim that their client was never offered a release to sign to appear in the movie.

Woman sues Sacha Baron Cohen over Bruno incident

Abu Aita also names David Letterman, CBS and Worldwide Pants in the suit over an interview with Baron Cohen on The Late Show, during which the actor referred to Abu Aita as a "terrorist." Baron Cohen said on the program that a CIA agent helped him set up a meeting with Abu Aita in the West Bank, and that he feared for his safety when he interviewed the "terrorist" in a secret location chosen by Abu Aita. The lawsuit states that Abu Aita's interview occurred at a hotel chosen by Baron Cohen in a location in the West Bank that was under Israeli military control.NBC Universal and director Larry Charles are also named in the lawsuit. Universal Studios and a rep for Letterman declined to comment, according to the AP.Bruno lawyer: Woman's lawsuit is "ludicrously false"This is the second lawsuit filed against the film. In June, a woman sued Baron Cohen and NBC Universal, claiming she was injured at a charity bingo tournament during a scene for the movie.
