On the new Starz series Magic City, Jeffrey Dean Morgan stars as Ike Evans, the owner of the Miramar Playa, one of Miami's most glamorous hotels in the 1950s. But as the hotel prepares for a New Year's Eve performance by Frank Sinatra, union strikes force Ike into a panic that his establishment might have to close. And it's not just his guests Ike's worried about. The hotelier is also indebted to mob boss Ben "The Butcher" Diamond (Danny Huston).
In the exclusive clip below, Ike and his son Stevie (Steven Strait) refuse to let the picketers shut them down. "You know who's upstairs in my goddamn hotel?" Ike says. "Francis Albert Sinatra in my Presidential suite. And tonight he's walking down onto my stage in my hotel and he's ringing in my goddamn new year."
Magic City premieres Friday at 10/9c on Starz.
