IT'S MAGIC!

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix made sales records vanish into thin air over the weekend. J.K. Rowling's fifth book in the Harry Potter series sold an unprecedented five million copies on Saturday alone. That surpasses the previous benchmark set by Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, which sold three million copies in its entire first weekend three years ago. And there's more good news for the slumping publishing industry: Penguin has gone back to the presses twice for John Steinbeck's East of Eden, with which Oprah Winfrey chose to relaunch her Book Club last week.
