Seems a critical darling is starting to endear itself to the viewing public, too.
The second-season premiere of AMC's
Mad Men drew an impressive 1.9 million viewers Sunday night, more than twice its average number during Season 1. The period drama about a '60s advertising agency received 16 Emmy nominations earlier this month, including a nod for Best Drama, the first time (along with fellow breakout hit
Damages) that a basic cable show has been so acknowledged.
There are 13 episodes in this second season, which takes place two years after the riveting (and much-debated) Season 1 finale. -
