Returns: Thursday, April 24, at 10 pm (ABC) Number of new episodes: 5

Where we left off: Michael had related the long-overdue story of exactly what happened to him after he and Walt sailed away from the isle, and how he wound up as a spy on Widmore's boat. Of course, he also raised a half-dozen new questions along the way! What's next "The audience is gonna feel us slamming down on the gas pedal," exec producer Damon Lindelof says of the show's April 24 return. "Instead of working our way up into the finale, we hit the ground running." With five episodes remaining in its fourth season, Lost will waste no time answering questions raised by the March 20 cliff-hanger. Upcoming episodes will reveal how Michael made it home. Says exec producer Carlton Cuse: "Michael becomes really pivotal to the end of the season. His return will have a lot of impact on the other characters." About the O6....: Viewers also will learn how the Oceanic 6 escaped the island and what happened to those who didn't. "The debate about whether Jack [Matthew Fox] or Locke [Terry O'Quinn] was right is really gonna amplify," Cuse teases. But wait, there's more!: Among the other goodies in store: the identity of the person in that coffin, details on the freighter folk and the answer to who attacked- and seemingly killed- Rousseau and Karl.
