Another Law & Order/Chicago crossover is in the works, and this one is 26 years in the making.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lorraine Toussaint will appear in an upcoming episode of Dick Wolf's Chicago P.D. as defense attorney Shambala Green, a character she first played on Wolf's Law & Order in 1990.

The April episode, the 21st episode of Chicago P.D.'s third season, will serve as the backdoor pilot for Chicago Justice, introducing the characters of the upcoming courtroom spin-off. Green, who appeared several times on Law & Order, most recently in 2003, will be a recurring character on Chicago Justice.

Toussaint is best known recently for playing Vee on Orange Is the New Black. She is also a series regular on Fox's Rosewood, but Chicago Justice will not interfere with her role there.

A premiere date for Chicago Justice has not been set. Chicago P.D. airs Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC.
