Jones, 31, first joined the U.S. national bobsled team in October 2012 and competed in the World Cup bobsledding competition the following month. She and the U.S. team won gold at the FIBT World Championships in January 2013.

Making the team doesn't necessarily mean either will compete in the Sochi Games, which begin Feb. 7. ''It was difficult to narrow the women's push field to six and it will be even more challenging to select the top three for the Olympic team in a few months,'' the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation CEO Darrin Steele said in a statement. ''The hard work and dedication has paid off and I couldn't be more proud of all these athletes.''
