During Monday night's press conference for the upcoming film, Lohan sat in the front row, sparking rumors she might be joining the cast. Producer Mark Fiore confirmed that they've been speaking, but said that nothing is finalized. There's no word on who she'll play, but it's hard to ignore her resemblance to Victoria Gotti, no?
The project stars John Travolta as John Gotti Sr. and focuses on the relationship between Gotti Sr., the head of the Gambino crime family, and his son John Gotti Jr., who took over the family business after his father died in prison in 2002. The younger Gotti also served time in prison. Joe Pesci just signed on to play Angelo Ruggiero, John Gotti Sr.'s deputy, Deadline reports.
At the press conference, Travolta discussed how he can connect to his role on an emotional level and has talked to Gotti's son, John "Junior" Gotti, about it. "His father lost a son, and I've lost a son, and we discussed that in depth and how painful that is and how painful that was for his father," Travolta said.
Travolta's 11-year-old daughter, Ella Bleu, is slated to play a young Angel Gotti, John Gotti's daughter.
Nick Cassevetes is directing the film, which is set to begin shooting in October.
