Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are reuniting for a new comedy series on Netflix, the online platform announced Wednesday.

From writers/creators Marta Kauffman (Friends) and Howard J. Morris (Home Improvement), Grace and Frankie will follow longtime rivals Frankie (Tomlin) and Grace (Fonda), who form an unexpected bond after their husbands announce they are in love and plan to get married. The single-camera comedy's first season will consist of 13 30-minute episodes.

"Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are among the funniest and most formidable actresses ever and it's an incredible privilege to give them the opportunity to run riot on Netflix," Netflix's Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said in a statement. "The show created for them by Marta and Howard is warm, very funny and anything but wholesome. We can't wait."

Tomlin and Fonda first worked together on the hit comedy 9 to 5 (here's hoping for a Dolly Parton guest spot on Grace and Frankie!). Tomlin is currently appearing on Lisa Kudrow's Showtime series Web Therapy, while Fonda has a recurring role on HBO's The Newsroom.
