The stars of The League are willing to do anything for their show. And when we say anything, that includes barraging NFL players twice their size.
"There was one scene where I had to insult [Baltimore Ravens linebacker] Terrell Suggs, and everyone was like, 'We don't want to tell him that you're going to insult him — just go up and insult him,'" star Paul Scheer tells TVGuide.com. "Here's a guy who runs people over on the field and I had to insult him, but he started laughing. I was like, 'Thank God.'"
If you're looking to get into the series, but are not familiar with the NFL Sunday line-up or the parameters of fantasy football, don't worry. The League offers a little something for everyone, Kroll says.
"If you love fantasy football, you're going to get a taste of it throughout the show. If you hate fantasy football, you're going to get amazing, really smart, funny jokes," Kroll says. "If you like d--- jokes, we have some of the smartest ones you'll ever see."
The League premieres Thursday at 10:30/9:30c on FX.
