LC: Spencer Never Apologized

Contrary to what you saw on The Hills this season, in reality, Spencer Pratt never apologized about spreading sex-tape rumors, according to Lauren Conrad. Conrad, who will not appear on the next season of The Hills, chatted with the ladies of The View Thursday about her novel L.A. Candy. She appeared stumped when panelist Elisabeth Hasselbeck asked her how she felt when Pratt called to make amends. "To be perfectly honest, I wasn't on the other line of that call," she said after a long pause. Pressed for details, Conrad added, "That was filmed and I wasn't on the other end. ...

Pressed for details, Conrad added, "That was filmed and I wasn't on the other end. ... So no, I didn't get an apology; he's lying."

While the idea that a reality show might shape the truth to further a storyline isn't exactly news, Spencer's apology (see the video here) was an important plot point on The Hills, as it appeared to be the catalyst that spurred Conrad to change her mind about attending Pratt's wedding to Heidi Montag, Conrad's former best friend.

Not surprisingly, MTV and reps for Conrad and the Pratts refused TVGuide.com's requests for comment.
