It's a Blue Velvet reunion!

Laura Dern is joining Showtime's Twin Peaks revival, TVLine reports.

Details about her role are top secret, but the most popular guess is that the Oscar-nominated actress and frequent David Lynch collaborator is playing Diane, Agent Cooper's (Kyle MacLachlan) heretofore-unseen secretary. If Dern is playing Diane, that still doesn't rule out the popular theory of Diane being a figment of Cooper's imagination.

The gig will not only reunite Dern with Lynch, but MacLachlan as well. All three worked together on Lynch's 1986 classic Blue Velvet. Lynch also directed Dern in Wild at Heart and Inland Empire.

Besides McLachlan, Dern joins a cast that includes original stars Sheryl Lee and Sherilyn Fenn, and new additions Jennifer Jason Leigh, Robert Knepper, Balthazar Getty and Amanda Seyfried.

Filming is already underway in Washington state with an eye on a summer 2017 premiere.
