Nearly a decade ago, The Matrix director Larry Wachowski announced the decision to transition from male to female. Now, as part of a promo for her latest film, Wachowski made a rare on-camera appearance, introducing herself as Lana.

Wearing a grey dress and pink dreadlocks, Wachowski appeared alongside her Matrix collaborator and brother Andy Wachowski and director Tom Tykwer to introduce their new film, Cloud Atlas. The trio co-directed and co-wrote the film, which premieres Oct. 26 and stars Tom Hanks and Halle Berry.
