TV Guide Network will team with Larry David to create exclusive, never-before-seen extras that will air in conjunction with Curb Your Enthusiasm's run on the network starting this summer. Hosted by comedienne and series regular Susie Essman (Susie Greene), Curb Your Enthusiam: The Discussion will feature a panel of high-profile guest stars, pundits and prominent social figures who will debate the moral implications of the behavior in each episode.
"Finally, thanks to the TV Guide Network, I'll get a chance to watch actual, intelligent people discuss and debate the issues addressed on Curb," David said. "Now if only someone could tell me where this alleged 'network' is, I might even watch it."
Added Essman: "Thanks to Larry, I am on a first-name basis with the premium cable audience. And now with TV Guide Network's series run of Curb Your Enthusiasm, I'll get to be on a first-name basis with the basic cable audience, which let's face it, is much, much bigger. My goal is to make this the best seven-minute panel show on TV."
TV Guide Network has hired acclaimed television producer Scott Carter (Real Time with Bill Maher and Politically Incorrect), who will work with David to develop and produce the extras. Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Discussion will air immediately after each episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm and will run for seven to eight minutes.
"We are honored and thrilled to be working with Larry David and Scott Carter to create a series of original extras that will undoubtedly engage both new and long-time fans of Curb Your Enthusiasm," said Diane Robina, executive vice president of programming and marketing for TV Guide Network. "Their hands-on involvement will ensure that the extras are carefully crafted and set the appropriate tone for a show as brilliant as Curb Your Enthusiasm."
Curb Your Enthusiasm will make its basic cable debut on TV Guide Network on Wedneday, June 2 at 10/9c.
