Lance Armstrong Sued by U.S. Justice Department

Lance Armstrong isn't finished with the flogging he's received since admitting last year to taking performance-enhancing substances. This time, it's from the U.S. Justice Department. The department filed formal charges Tuesday against Armstrong and his company, Tailwind Sports, for taking millions from the U.S. Postal Service for his cycling team, CNN reports.

Lance Armstrong turns down Dancing with the Stars

Court documents show the Postal Service paid about $40 million to sponsor the team from 1998 to 2004. At the heart of the complaint is a charge that using prohibited drugs, as Armstrong admitted in a tell-all TV interview with Oprah Winfrey in January, is a breach of contract with the USPS.

Officials say they're seeking approximately triple that amount — or possibly more than $100 million — under the False Claims Act.
