Lindsay Lohan has fired back at the lawman who took (but later backpedaled on) a dig at her relationship with DJFF Samantha Ronson.

While expressing his opposition to proposed laws exacting stricter regulations on paparazzi, Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton opined that celebs themselves are the problem. "If you notice, since Britney started wearing clothes and behaving, Paris is out of town not bothering anybody... and, evidently, Lindsay Lohan has gone gay, we don't seem to have much of an issue," he said. Lohan on Friday night responded (in this video, at the 0:40 mark), "Police chiefs shouldn't get involved in everyone else's business when it comes to their personal life. It's inappropriate."

Bratton, in a subsequent press confab, had explained that what he meant was that Lohan has "found a relationship" with Ronson "which has quieted her down." When pressed about the "gone gay" crack, he barked back, "Get off it, for crying out loud.... There's nobody more supportive of gay rights than I am." - Gina DiNunno
