Kristen Stewart Apologizes for Cheating on Robert Pattinson

After working so hard to keep their relationship private, Kristen Stewart has issued a very public apology for cheating on her boyfriend Robert Pattinson.
"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected," Stewart said in a statement obtained by People. "This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."

Stewart's apology comes after photos of her kissing her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders were obtained by Us Weekly. (The photos will be released in the next issue). The 41-year-old filmmaker and father of two has also released a statement after cheating on his own wife of seven years, Liberty Ross, who coincidentally played Stewart's mother in the film.
Sanders issued an apology of his own: "I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family. My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."
Pattinson's reaction to Stewart's infidelity remains unknown, but an April interview he did with Italian Vogue might give some hints. "But there's a thing I've never got: That is, why do people cheat?" Pattinson wondered.

Stewart and Pattinson met four years ago while filming the first Twilight film. Though rumors began immediately that the co-stars were more than friends, the couple has only been officially dating for three years.
Over time, the pair has become much more public with their affection, even attending the Teen Choice Awards together only a few days ago.
