Kris Jenner believes she could have saved Nicole Brown Simpson had she met with her the morning of her murder in 1994.
In her new memoir, Kris Jenner...And All Things Kardashian, Jenner — whose late ex-husband Robert Kardashian defended O.J. Simpson in Brown Simpson's and Ron Goldman's murders — writes that Brown Simpson called her early on June 12, 1994, asking her to come over.

"Nicole said, 'Can you get over here...? I need to talk to you. It's really important,'" Jenner writes, according to excerpts obtained by Radar Online. Jenner asked if they could hold off until the next day because she was busy with her children, to which Brown Simpson agreed. "[She said] 'That's okay, can you meet me tomorrow for lunch? I really have to talk to you about something really, really important,'" Jenner writes. "It would be the last time I would ever speak to Nicole."Brown Simpson and Goldman were murdered that night. A mutual friend later told Jenner that Simpson had abused his ex-wife and Brown Simpson had been collecting evidence, she says. "[She] had been keeping this physical proof in the form of photographs and, it would turn out, other evidence, in which she had documented seventeen years of abuse," Jenner says. "Nicole really wanted someone close to her to know what was going on, so that somebody — namely me — could be a witness. ... The realization that she had wanted to confide in me hit me so hard. ... And I had let her down."

Rep: O.J. Simpson has not confessed to Oprah

Jenner says she "instinctively knew" Simpson had something to do with her death. "I truly couldn't believe she had been so betrayed by the person who she had once loved most," she writes. "That O.J. would be so destructive and selfish and jealous that he would do that to her was just mind-blowing to me. All these thoughts were running through my mind: This can't be true."Simpson was acquitted of both murders. He's serving a 33-year sentence for kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon and other felonies stemming from a 2007 incident in which he tried to recover sports memorabilia.
