Kris Jenner is on the cover of the March issue of Harper's Bazaar, appearing in a bonkers circus-themed photo shoot by Terry Richardson alongside an interview with Lisa DePaulo.
In the chat, Jenner speaks at length about her life in the wake of her ex Caitlyn Jenner's transition. She does not shy away from how difficult it's been, but still doesn't quite say how feels. She says that prayer and time are helping her through.
"I was at her house last night," she told DePaulo. "And it was ... nice. Little by little. Baby steps, you know?"
There was a big learning curve for her after Caitlyn announced her transition, which Kris says she learned of at the same time "as everybody." She says she didn't know any trans people before that:
"'I didn't even know what the word meant. Because there's transgender and transsexual, and there's ...' A pause. 'I mean, I just didn't know much about it. So ...' She smiles. 'I definitely got a big education.'"
She says she didn't question herself when Caitlyn told her about transitioning, but did question the purpose of their relationship:
"'You know, 'What were those 20-plus years all about?' And I felt like, at some point anybody would feel like, 'Wow, why was I put through this? For 20 years I could have been, you know, doing something else.' But I really do believe everything happens for a reason.' And the reason, in this case, was Kendall and Kylie, the children she had with Bruce."
Jenner says her only regret in life is her divorce from Robert Kardashian.
Elsewhere in the interview, Jenner had plenty of things to say that readers may find irksome, including calling her son-in-law Kanye West "a genius" and "the best daddy," and agreeing that criticism against her is sexist. Jenner also harshly dismissed her haters, saying: "I think people are very jealous. Or are bitter and angry about their own lives. So maybe they don't have anything else to do but be nasty and criticize someone else. That sounds like a simple answer, but I don't think it's much deeper than that. And there are so many millions of people who are great to us that I can't worry about some idiot in Oklahoma."
