Is this really the end of the road for Jack Bauer?
In a new interview with the UK newspaper The Telegraph, 24 star and executive producer Kiefer Sutherland says he has no desire to reprise the character despite reports as recent as September that executive producer Brian Grazer was looking (again) into doing a movie.
"Me, I don't see going back to it," Sutherland said. "We had set out to do 12 episodes [of Live Another Day] to end the show and deal with some of the past history of the show. It was also an irresistible opportunity to go shoot in England. So for all of those reasons it made sense to do that last season."
After four years off the air, 24 returned for a full season last summer. Live Another Day ended up with Jack in Russian custody.
However, Sutherland knows all too well to never say never. "I think I said the same thing at the end of Season 8," Sutherland said of the last season before Live Another Day. "So I would hate to be held to that."
