Last year, Today co-anchor Hoda Kotb adopted a daughter, Haley. Hoda and Haley's joyous journey has been a highlight of Hoda's big year and she even wrote a kids' book inspired by Haley called I've Loved You Since Forever, a love letter from a parent to a child. Now, Hoda and Haley have been immortalized in song thanks to Kelly Clarkson.

The Voice coach adapted the book into a sweet song and premiered the music video on Thursday's Today. It's a touching country ballad in which Clarkson sings Kotb's words to her young daughter. The beautiful melody could be a new standard in the lullaby genre, if you asked us.

All proceeds from sales of the song go to Helpusadopt.org, a charity that helps people with the cost of adopting by awarding grants up to $15,000.

Here's the behind-the-scenes story of how the song came to be.
