The writers of Modern Family haven't yet begun plotting next season's stories, but already I have scoop on the premiere episode. The ABC sitcom is planning to shoot new opening credits to show how the cast members, especially the child actors, have changed. (Prior to this, the only actors who had filmed an updated credits sequence were Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, when Aubrey Anderson-Emmons was cast as daughter Lily in Season 3.)
"Now that the kids have grown and we have baby Joe, it's a good time to shoot a full new opening in front of the families' homes," says executive producer Steven Levitan. A different baby will likely be hired to play Jay and Gloria's son, though Joe won't be substantially aged up, Levitan says. Stage moms, send your kids' photos to ABC now!
