"I keep getting roles like this, toying with men and having them wrapped around my finger," she tells TVGuide.com.
In Sunday's episode titled "Beached," a body is found by a popular beachside bar and the case leads to a love triangle that may have ended in murder. The body belongs to one of Ewell's bar patrons and Jim (Matt Passmore) believes she was the last to see him before his death. "I take my job seriously and I don't go home with customers," she says in this clip before mistakenly revealing her tie to his hotel room.
Ewell says her character is quite similar to her Vicki Donovan on The Vampire Diaries. "I use my body however I can to get whatever I want," she says, "And that's how I view both of those characters." But one major difference the 25-year-old actress found while filming the A&E series was having to be up and at 'em so early in the day (4:30 a.m.) and outside in the sun. "The Vampire Diaries are [mostly] night shoots and then this was all day shoots ... I'm more of a night person," she says.
Ewell, who's in a bikini for most of the episode, enjoys playing the vixen more than the heroine. "Those kinds of characters are the ones viewers can't get enough of," she says.
