The Sept. 25 episode of The Simpsons has Bart likening his folks' latest split to "an act of God  like a hurricane or war," and includes a mention of gas siphoning, but the seemingly topical references are purely coincidental, a Fox insider tells TVGuide.com, noting that the animated series is scripted so far in advance that incorporating timely subject matter is nearly impossible. A spokesperson for The Simpsons had no official comment on the program's content.
