Katie Couric dropped by her old haunt Today on Wednesday to discuss her new book The Best Advice I Ever Got: Lessons from Extraordinary Lives, and also apparently to tease everyone with no new information whatsoever on the much-discussed future of her career. Her once (and future?) co-anchor Matt Lauer spent about three minutes asking her about her book, and five talking about the talk surrounding Couric's future as a televised talker. Couric remained noncommittal: She's "not sure" what she'll be doing, but "really excited about the future," the direction of which she is "in the middle of figuring out." Couric said she hopes to have an answer regarding whether she'll stay at CBS or take the syndication route "in the next few weeks." She added, "It's important for everybody, I think, to kind of move forward." Indeed —particularly those of us hanging on her every word!
