Kanye West produces as many controversial sound bites as he does hit songs (if not more). And he showed no signs of stopping during a recent deposition.

TMZ obtained a transcript of the rapper's deposition in his assault case where he is accused of attacking a paparazzi and breaking his camera. At one point, the photographer's lawyer, Nate Goldberg, questions West about his anti-paparazzi song, "Flashing Lights," quoting the lyrics: "Till I get flashed by the paparazzi, damn, these n-----s got me."

That's when West interrupts Goldberg, explaining: "You have to ask for a hall pass. You can't just say the 'N' word around me. It offends me because you're a white person saying 'n----.'"

"I mean, in the '60s people used to hold up 'Die N-----' signs when my parents were in the sit-ins also," he adds. Goldberg then asked if West believes the Civil Rights Movement parallels the celebrities fighting for their rights against paparazzi today. "Yes, 100 [percent]," he responds, echoing similar remarks he made to GQ last month. "I equate it to discrimination. I equate it to inequalities. ... We, as a group of minorities here in L.A., as celebrities, have to ban together to influence guys like this — guys trying to take the picture, guys trying to get the big win, guys trying to get the check."

And in case you thought Yeezy was just blowing hot air, he makes it very clear during the deposition that he not only means every word he says, but that each syllable should be held in high regard. "I'm the smartest celebrity you've ever f---ing dealt with. I'm not Britney Spears,' he proclaims. "I'm in the business of trying to make dope sh-- for the world. You're in the business of representing scums and trying to make as much money as long as there's this lapse in law."
