Kanye West will make his first awards show appearance since the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards at the BET Awards '10, the network announced Wednesday.

The 33-year-old Grammy winner will perform at the ceremony, his first since he famously took the microphone and interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at September's VMAs.

The incident sparked criticism and mockery long after the awards show despite his public mea culpa the next day on The Jay Leno Show as well as to Swift personally. West pulled out of a planned nationwide tour with Lady Gaga less than a month later.

West has been known for his awards show antics, particularly for his petulance over not winning at ceremonies such as the Grammys.
