Justified, created by Graham Yost and starring Timothy Olyphant, is based on the popular Elmore Leonard character Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens. After becoming the second-highest series premiere in FX history in 2010, Season 2 has averaged 3.9 million viewers and 2 million adults ages 18-49, a 15 and 18 percent rise, respectively.
"Justified was a critically acclaimed hit series in its first season, but the show has far surpassed our expectations this season," FX President and General Manager John Landgraf said. "Graham Yost and his team of writers are delivering some of the richest stories anywhere on TV and are doing a brilliant job of being true to Elmore Leonard's original character, Raylan Givens. We couldn't be more proud of the work everyone has done."
The show is expected to air its 13-episode third season next spring, Landgraf said at the network's upfront presentation in New York Tuesday night. Justified''s current season will wrap on May 4.
Archer, an animated spy comedy featuring the voices of H. John Benjamin, Aisha Tyler, Chris Parnell, Judy Greer and Jessica Walter, was renewed for 16 episodes. Landgraf said the first three episodes will air in the fall following It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, with the 13 remaining episodes airing in late winter or early spring as usual.
Justified airs Wednesdays at 10/9c on FX. Archer airs Thursdays at 10/9c.
