Roberts' next project is Ryan Murphy's upcoming HBO film The Normal Heart, based on Larry Kramer's award-winning play about the onset of the HIV/AIDS crisis in the 1980s. In the film she plays Dr. Brookner, a character based on real-life Dr. Linda Laubenstein who treated early cases of AIDS in New York City.
