Joel McHale to Host Independent Spirit Awards

Joel McHale will host the 2011 Independent Spirit Awards, Film Independent announced Wednesday.

This will be McHale's first time hosting the Spirit Awards, which honors independent films. The Community star and Soup host has appeared in The Informant! and can be seen in next year's Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World.Nominations will be announced Nov. 30 by Eva Mendes and Jeremy Renner. The 26th annual Spirit Awards will take place Saturday, Feb. 26, and will air that night at 10/9c on IFC.
