Jodie Sweetin Jodie Sweetin

Jodie Sweetin hinted that Michelle Tanner will be gone but not forgotten on Fuller House.

The actress formerly known (and soon to be known again) as Stephanie Tanner told Us Weekly on the red carpet for Insidious 3 that the role vacated by the Olsen twins will still have a "presence" on the show.

"The Michelle character is still going to have a presence. It's not like we're not talking about her," Sweetin said. "I think we're going to be just fine."

What she probably means: Michelle Tanner's character will be studying abroad, or living in New York City, or otherwise out of frame but still in existence.

What we hope it means: Michelle Tanner will be a ghost.

It's official: The Olsen twins aren't joining the Full House reboot

So far, the Olsen twins have been the only major holdouts from the original cast — Jodie Sweetin, Candace Cameron Bure, Bob Saget, John Stamos, Dave Coulier, Andrea Barber, and Lori Loughlin are all signed on to reprise their roles. The show will focus on DJ Tanner as a recent widow who moves back in with her family. Fuller House will air on Netflix at an as-yet-unannounced future date.

How do you think the show will explain Michelle's absence?
