Jimmy Kimmel Will Be Live's First Post-Michael Strahan Guest Host
The late-night host will join Kelly Ripa on May 16
Jimmy Kimmel will be summoned forth from the darkness of late night to make a daytime appearance on Monday, May 16.
ABC's late-night host will be Kelly Ripa's first guest co-host on the daytime talk show Live with Kelly and TBD after Michael Strahan leaves the show on Friday, May 13, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Kimmel is outside of the stable of the show's usual guest hosts like Anderson Cooper, Andy Cohen and Josh Groban (all of whom will make appearances until a permanent co-host is found), and he's an attention-grabbing choice to be the first man in Strahan's vacant chair. He will surely make it awkward by joking about the dramatic circumstances around Strahan's exit.
Kimmel shoots Jimmy Kimmel Live in Los Angeles, but he will be in New York for ABC's upfront presentation to advertisers on Tuesday, May 17. His annual appearances at the upfronts have become famous for his no-holds-barred roasts of the Big 4 networks.
