British Singer Jessie J Shaves Head for Charity

British singer Jessie J is giving back to charity in an unusual way — by shaving her head!

The "Domino" singer, 24, got rid of her dark locks Friday to raise money for Comic Relief charities on Red Nose Day 2013. Prior to her drastic cut, she met with those who had been helped by the organization, including men and women living with HIV and girls who has been the victims of sex trafficking. Jessie said that shaving her head "is the smallest thing that I could do to give back to these people that need it so much."

English comedian Lenny Henry took the first snip and joked about putting the strands on eBay. Jessie later debuted her new look on live TV and called the change "so liberating."
