McCarthy, who currently hosts The Jenny McCarthy Show on VH-1, will replace co-host Joy Behar, who is set to leave the show in August. Brooke Shields is reportedly in talks to replace Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who departed last week and is heading to Fox News.
"I'm beyond thrilled to be joining Barbara and the other amazing women at the table," McCarthy said in a statement. "I look forward to helping make hot topics a little bit hotter, and showing my mom that my interrupting skills have finally paid off."
The View will also need to find a replacement for Walters, who has said she plans to retire next May. Co-hosts Sherri Shepherd and Whoopi Goldberg are expected to return to the show.
