Top Model's Jennipher: Can't She Spell?
Ever notice how those wannabes on
America's Next Top Model have such oddly spelled names? Last year's winner was called
Yoanna House. There's a fine moniker — if you're a drag-queen realtor. This season, the gals bear names like
Yaya,
Toccara and
Norelle. Whassup wit dat? TV Guide Online decided the latest eliminee,
Jennipher Frost, would be the perfect one to ask. Here's what the 22-year-old barkeep from Pocatello, Idaho, had to say.
TV Guide Online: What's with the "ph"? My Watercooler pal, Damian, said you need to get hooked on phonics.
Jennipher Frost: I was born spelling it with an f. Then, in sixth grade, there were so many Jennifers in our class — one went by Jen, one was Jenny, one was Jennifer... I had to do something different, so I changed it to Jennipher. I like the cool, unique spelling 'cause I don't know anybody else that has it. So I went and changed everything and left it at that!
TVGO: So you legally changed the spelling of your name?
Jennipher: My driver's license is the only thing that says Jennifer. But all my credit cards and everything else has the "ph." It's almost worth going back to the original spelling just so I don't have to deal with it!
TVGO: Let's play devil's advocate: The eliminations came down to you and Kelle. Once again, she made the bottom two and the judges hated her photos — but they kept her. Could race be a factor?
Jennipher: You're the first one to ever say that, but I would say maybe yeah. If she's doing that awful, what's happening? Are they looking for a black model this year? There has to be something there because she's just not cuttin' it picturewise. They never say anything good about her. That's the only difference between me and her, so....
TVGO: You mean that you're white and Kelle's black.
Jennipher: Yeah. There has to be a little something goin' on because my picture is better than hers every week. I got one that's maybe so-so, but all hers are just awful. So what makes her stay? I don't know exactly what they're looking for.
TVGO: Well, Kelle did win $1000 in lingerie for best pose in the LaPerla store window. How humiliating was that task?
Jennipher: That wasn't that bad. I flashed my booty the week before when I did runway in a little pink spandex dress. It didn't really fit, so I wrote "ANTM" on my booty. Most people know me by that. The judges thought I was trying to be a joke, so it didn't work out so well.
TVGO: Which models were hardest to cohabit with?
Jennipher: Ann was only bad when she tried to tag along with Eva; she becomes a totally different person around her. Eva and Kelle were probably the hardest. Eva's trying to be the diva leader and Kelle's an only child, so she's not used to sharing the bathroom.
TVGO: Hey! I'm an only child, missy. I know how to share.
Jennipher: [Laughs] OK, well there's only a few of you that know about that. My cousin's an only child and he gets everything. I have a brother and a sister, so I fought with both of 'em!
TVGO: Who was your least favorite judge?
Jennipher: Nole didn't have much attitude or opinion. He was just plain there. He's the one with the Pomeranian dog. I only saw that dog in the first two episodes, and then it was gone!
TVGO: There was no explanation? Maybe Cruella Dickinson made a coat out of the pooch.
Jennipher: You need to write about that! Find out what the hell happened to the dog. Maybe it was eliminated.
TVGO: Consider this canine case file opened!
